NER works with member insurers, claims professionals and SIUs to ensure that NER’s services are best used in all facets of the claims process.

  • NER increases the rate of recovery of stolen heavy equipment through the provision of a central source of equipment loss, the registration of equipment prior to loss, education and specialist investigative aid to law enforcement, and by searching the used-equipment market.
  • NER decreases the cost and increases the speed and accuracy of loss reporting through the pre-registration of equipment, quality control measures and equipment claims handling advice. NER checks the accuracy of claims of member insurers against Product Identification Number (PIN) tables and other sources of ownership and loss data. NER interfaces with existing methods of loss reporting, such as ISO’s ClaimSearch®, to avoid duplication of effort by claims staff. Insurers not reporting to ISO may report losses direct to NER via NER’s secure website.
  • NER detects and deters fraud by correcting PINs and cross-referencing claims against data fields not included on other anti-fraud databases.
  • NER provides information and expertise in support of investigations by Special Investigation Units of Member Insurers.
  • NER increases the speed and efficiency of salvage through liaison with law enforcement and the recording of specialist forensic evidence to ensure the quick release of equipment. NER has excellent contacts in the used equipment and salvage industries to ensure that the highest price is realized for recovered equipment and salvage costs are kept to a minimum.
