January 2006 - The ‘ARA Insurance Services/NER Award’ (AIS/NER Award) recognizes the law enforcement officer or agent who has “performed exceptional service to the rental industry through the recovery of rental equipment or through theft prevention initiatives” in an award year. 

For 2005, Investigator Gabe Marquez of the California Highway Patrol and Detective Lou Koven of the Los Angeles Police Department were chosen as joint winners of the AIS/NER Award.  Working together, these officers recovered numerous machines, met with local associations to raise awareness, trained fellow officers and assisted in the formation of a

 new industry anti-theft task force in southern California.
